JDConv 2026 — Report: Arcane Ludique Takes the Stage in Annecy

Annecy, April 2026. For the first time on stage, Arcane Ludique presented its integrated gaming table to the JDConv audience — with an interview about the workshop's story.

Annecy, April 2026. For Arcane Ludique, the JDConv was far more than another convention : it was our first official appearance before the TTRPG community and the chance to reveal our integrated gaming table to the public for the very first time.

In the adventurers’ lair

There is something special in the air of a tabletop RPG convention. Barely contained enthusiasm, animated discussions, and the reassuring feeling of being surrounded by people who understand exactly why you spend hours building worlds from nothing.

The JDConv in Annecy 2026 was all of that at once. From the moment the doors opened, the hall filled with enthusiasts from across the region : seasoned players, Game Masters of every kind, collectors, independent creators and curious visitors.

The richness of the convention : passionate creators and captivated visitors.

For us, every encounter over those two days was valuable. We reconnected with long-time customers, had lengthy conversations with RPG professionals and met many new faces whose eyes widened as they discovered our stand.

An organisation that went the extra mile

It would be unfair to move on without a sincere salute to the JDConv organising team. From setup to closing, the organisation was of remarkable quality : always attentive, responsive, thoughtful without being intrusive. You could feel a real passion for roleplaying behind everything they did. Well done to them.

The grand premiere : the Table makes its entrance

For the very first time in public, we presented our integrated gaming table : a high-resolution screen embedded in the playing surface, set in a hand-engraved solid wood frame. The table displays virtual maps, dungeon layouts and combat interfaces in real time, while preserving the warm aesthetic of a true artisan table.

The reaction from the public far exceeded our expectations. Every visitor who stopped showed the same sequence : a curious look, a double-take, then a widening smile. Questions came immediately : Is it compatible with Foundry VTT? Can the dimensions be customised?

« This is exactly what our group has been missing for years. »

The system in action : MERP on the big screen

Live demo with Foundry VTT : miniatures on the virtual map.

For the live demo, we ran our MERP module under Foundry VTT, the system at the heart of our Legendes d’Helvea campaign. Middle-earth maps, miniatures on the screen, real-time combat resolution. Exactly the experience we wanted to offer.

The interview : Arcane Ludique’s story told live

The cherry on top of the weekend : an invitation to sit before the JDConv camera and tell the story of Arcane Ludique, its origins, its philosophy, the road from the first pieces crafted for friends to the professional workshop. Talking about what you build and why forces you to clarify your own vision.

What comes next?

The JDConv 2026 made us want to come back, and soon. These two days confirmed what we already knew : the TTRPG community values craftsmanship, attention to detail and objects made with soul. Exactly what we try to embody with every piece that leaves the workshop.

Thank you to everyone who came to see us. See you soon around a table.
